Well laid out. Easy access to all the works of art. I had not realised there was such a network of shops below street level. Brilliant.
Thank you so much for your kind review!
I know many people who have visited in the past, and each of them said that they did not have enough time. I agree. If you have your heart set on visiting and love art, I would recommend starting as soon as they open and stay until they close. There is so so much to see and experience. and this is something not to be rushed. We did manage to see the Mona Lisa, and while this was a must see, the crush of people and limited time allowed to view it, ruined the experience of seeing this painting. This is a must see, but if you have visions of standing in front of this painting for an extended period of time trying to memorize the details of the work, you will be disappointed. We did not manage to see the whole museum, but one of my favorites was the Egyptian exhibit. Special Notes Buy you tickets in advance, if you want to buy same day or even same week you will most likely be disappointed with your time slot, if you even get one. The museum could use better signage to get around, get a map and get your bearings before wandering around trying to find your must see exhibit. Leave the museum in the evening, or make sure you visit after nightfall, the lighting outside is spectacular.
Thank you so much for taking a time out to write a review for us.
Despite advanced booking - long queues. Mostly due to security checks. Not enough staff around prior to entrance for information. It’s a huge museum with loads to see - way too much for one visit. MAP VERY POOR. BIG Queues for loos, and restaurants. Lots to see there-pick one area to see.
Thank you for your kind words!
